When it comes to selling flowers online, customers often make purchases for specific dates and locations. This unique aspect makes traditional post-marketing, commonly known as remarketing, less effective for those who have added items to their shopping cart but haven't completed the order over days or weeks.
To enhance your cart abandonment strategy, we've introduced an improved cart abandonment marketing tool with the following features:
- Emails sent 15 minutes to 2 hours after cart abandonment
- Option to send SMS or email notifications
- Generation of a single-use discount coupon based on the order value expiring in seven days
- Useful tracking to monitor whether customers complete their orders (coming soon)
We've also developed four pre-designed email templates utilizing our new structure. You can customize the messaging and content yourself or opt for a personalized email design for an additional cost.
When to Send the Message:
There's no one-size-fits-all timeframe for sending cart abandonment messages. Shoppers often face distractions during checkout or encounter payment issues. We recommend waiting no less than 30 minutes and no more than 12 hours before sending a reminder. For instance, someone starting the process in the morning might get distracted, but a reminder a few hours later can prompt them to complete the order.
Discount Considerations:
Whether to offer a discount is entirely up to you. You can configure the discount to apply only for orders over a specific amount. Keep in mind that the discount coupons are single-use, preventing reuse once applied.
SMS or Email:
While SMS generally elicits a quicker response, it comes with a cost. You can activate the feature and assess the cost versus return using the dashboard.
How to Use the Feature:
Access your Flower Store in a Box dashboard and navigate to Marketing & SEO -> Marketing Tools -> Cart Abandonment. Activating the new version will automatically disable the older version to avoid sending duplicate reminders.
Custom Email Requests:
If you prefer a custom email, you can provide us with the HTML code designed by someone else, or we can design it for you for a fee. Here are the codes for incorporating customer details and product information.
InsertCustomer (Customer Name)
InsertDiscount (Discount Percentage)
DiscountCode (Discount Code)
ProductName (Product Name)
ProductURL (Link to Product)
ProductImage (Product Image)
CartLink (Link to create checkout again)
Please note that this is in BETA testing, so there may be some bugs in there we are ironing out.
