Online Payment Trends & Payment Gateways – What’s Popular Online?

OK so let’s have a chat about how people are paying online for flower sales. We have a wide view of what goes on in the Online Floral market through Flower Store In a Box.
In the last few months we have upgraded our payment options to include a new PayPal Integration, Apple Pay & Google Wallet. You can read about these updates here:
If you haven’t already been upgraded with the new payment options please contact me and I will organize this for you.
When a new customer comes on board with Flower Store In a Box we generally recommend that you signup with both Stripe and PayPal.
This allows you to have all the payment options on your website:
- AMEX, VISA, MASTERCARD
- Apple Pay
- Google Wallet
- Paypal
What are people using on their websites
Traditionally we used to give a general proportion of PayPal / On site Credit Card

With the new payment integration we are seeing:

What this shows us is that more people are using the alternative payment methods. So far Apple Pay and Google Wallet are still small in usage but PayPal has had a huge increase in popularity.
Recommendations for accepting payments online
Based on this our recommendation for online payments is still:
- On Site Credit Cards though Stripe or eway
- PayPal
- Stripe – for Apple Pay / Google Wallet if you don’t use eway or one of the major banks
