New AI Generated Metadata Tool in Flower Store In a Box

Flower Store In a Box launches AI-generated Meta Data Tool.

Whenever I ask customers what their most significant barrier to managing their florist website is, the top answer is “writing content, Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions”.

Only recently, there has been an enormous amount that we could do about this apart from creating some basic patterns that could be re-used.  However, with the release of several new incredibly advanced AI engines, we can now provide even more advanced features!

We have released an AI tool that helps generate Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions for your web pages and has been added to the Flower Store in a Box dashboard.  This tool uses Artificial Intelligence to create technically valid Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions.  The tool is available when you edit a product, product category or webpage.

AI Generated Metadata

The tool is not meant to replace human written Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions, and it’s unknown how Google will view long-term content that an AI Bot has written.  However, it’s better to have meta content than no content for your products and product categories.

How to get started with the AI-Generated Metadata

The tool is available in your Flower Store In a Box dashboard. However, you should make sure the information in your dashboard is up to date.

Here are some tips on how to make the most out of it:

1.Provide accurate data: Ensure that your website and product data are accurate and up-to-date. The AI tool relies on this data to generate relevant Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions for your web pages.  This data includes general website information:

  • Main Site Settings Address
  • Phone Number
  • Opening and closing hours
  • Same Day cut off times

            For products, this includes:

  • Price
  • Description
  • Categories the product is displayed in

            For product categories, this includes:

  • Name
  • Whether the category is an occasion, flower type or giftware

            For webpages, this includes:

  • The name and title of the page
  • The content of the page

2.Add custom marketing snippets: You can add custom marketing statements such as “Family Run Business For 25 Years” and “Fresh Market Flowers” to your dashboard so these can be used to help “train” the AI Bot to generate relevant Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions.

The marketing snippets are available under Marketing & SEO:: SEO:: SEO Topics For AI.

3. Check the suggestions: After the AI tool generates the Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions, take the time to review them. Make sure they match the web page's content and accurately represent what the page is about.

4.Customise if needed: If you feel the generated Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions could be improved, customise them. Use your own words to create Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions that are more compelling and accurately represent the page's content.

5.Keep it concise: Meta Titles should be no more than 60 characters, while Meta Descriptions should be no more than 155 characters. Ensure that the generated and customised Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions fit within these character limits.

6.Use relevant keywords: Ensure that the Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions contain relevant keywords that describe the page's content. This will help search engines understand your page and improve your SEO.

7.Test and refine: Keep an eye on your website traffic and search engine rankings. If you notice any issues, refine your Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions to improve your website's performance.

By following these tips, you can make the most out of your AI-generated Meta Data Tool and improve the visibility of your website on search engines.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the tool generate the metadata?

The tool uses the ChatGPT Artificial Intelligence engine to generate the required metadata.  We have spent time understanding what information we need to tell the AI bot to get the best results.  We have created what’s known as a “training model” that uses many different data points on your website to “train” the bot about your website and then define what exactly we require.

Is the content accurate?

Yes, as far as the data you have on your website and in your dashboard is accurate.  If you have ensured your data is correct, then the suggested metadata should also be correct.  In our testing, we have observed that sometimes the response may not be entirely accurate; for example, we have seen the answer get confused by the store opening hours and the same-day cut-off times.

What are the “tokens used” under the suggestion?

We are charged per use of the AI engine, and the “tokens” are then used to charge us.  At this stage, we are covering the cost of using this tool and are not charging our customers.

Should I copy and paste the suggested Metadata?

Yes, you can copy and paste the suggested content from the tool verbatim, but it’s advisable to review the content and edit it before using it.

Will Google penalise me for AI-generated Content?

This is a tricky question to answer, and it requires a nuanced answer.  It’s probably unlikely that google will be able to recognise such small snippets of content as AI-generated.  This is especially the case if you edit the suggestion before using it.

Google can recognise significant amounts of content as AI-Generated, and they will penalise the use of large quantities of this type of content.

However, we firmly believe it’s better to have valid metadata than to have no.

Can I use this tool to generate other content for my website?

At this stage no, large amounts of AI-Generated Data would be penalised by Google.

Can I use the tool if I am not a Flower Store In a Box customer?

No, you need to be a customer to use this tool.
