One of the core values of using Flower Store In a Box for your business is our never ending desire to provide the best floristry targeted ecommerce features.
The big news this week is we have just finished our newest version of software. This version will be publishing to our sites over the coming weeks. There are quite a large number of new and “tweaked” features.
For many florists in rural and remote areas delivery can only be arranged for some further out locations on specific days of the week, or not available sam day. We have now added the ability to restruct certain suburbs to days of the week.
To manage this feature go to manage your delivery locations under settings.
Click into the specific suburb / location and edit whether the day is blocked.
Restricted Categories allow you to limit orders for a specific date to a spevcific product category such as Mothers Day or Valentines day etc.
You can set the restriction to be "strict" and only allow products from that category only or allow one product from the category and then additional other products such as addons.
It's highly recommended to test the restriction once you have added it to the website to ensure it works the way you would like it to, as this can signifciantly decrease sales if done incorrectly.
You can now control whether products that are marked as out of stock will not appear in any product categories. This does not delete the product and is useful if you only want custimers to see products that are in stock.
The new option is found under Product Settings:
You now have more control over the custom pickup and time options. You can now choose what time the option is available from, so for example for a same day delivery time you might want to have an option for urgent delivery that is available to choose only between 10AM till 1pm for example.
In this way you can have more confol over the extra costs.
You can configure the phone number field in the checkout to only accept phone numbers. This option can be found under Checkout Settings:
I don't really recommend that you use this option, as many customers enter symbols, extensions and nmore detais in the form and this can prevent the checkout.
Structured data is very important for sharing product data withb google for Google Shopping and Facebook (Meta) for Facebook and Instagram Advertising and shopping. We have now moved now permanently embedded the most up to date Strcutured data in the product page rather than having a customsied version for each customer.
You can turn this off if you do have a customised structured data for your website under procuct settings:
