When was the last time that you went through all the settings of your website and made sure that they matched your current business?
If the answer was I don’t remember well no time like the present!
Most of these are technical settings that you shouldn’t touch, but the one that two that are really important for you are:
Site Name
Email Address
The email address is where all your order notifications go to, and also the email address that the orders come from. If this address is not monitored you might miss out on replies from your customers!
These are the settings that control how your shopping cart and checkout function. There are a load of extra features that you can try out to customize your users experience.
A good suggestion here is if you are unsure of what one of the options will look like, why not turn it on and then add a product to your shopping cart and view the checkout.
Just don’t forget to turn it off again if you don’t like the feature. It’s also worth noting that depending on the level of your account not all features may be available!
These are more advanced settings for how your website displays your products. An interesting feature here is the price to Highlight:
If you have multiple price points for each product you can choose which of the prices is the automatically highlighted one!
These are for how your website accepts and then notifies about orders.
Have a check here to make sure the same day cut offs are correct, or maybe you want to have a minimum order spend perhaps?
If you follow the recommended workflow of the order management process you can enable notifications sent to the customer when you change the status if the order.
This is especially useful for keeping the customers informed of when their order is being sent to the recipient!
If you regularly send orders to other florists you know you can enter their details here and then choose them from the list of relay locations in the order management.
You can have an SMS sent to you every time an order is received.
Extremely useful for Mothers Day, if you allow customers to order online and then pickup in store here his where you can add and manage the addressees.
Don’t forget you need to turn these options on in Shopping cart settings!
If you have multiple people that log into your dashboard then you should have a separate login for every person. That way you can manage their use of the dashboard and log their actions in the system.
Have you customized the email notifications that go out to people when they join your website? They can be found here.
Did you know that we natively integrate with Go People for on demand courier bookings directly from the dashboard. This can be set up here.
This is just a quick list for you to review but it’s worthwhile spending a couple of minutes optimizing your website!
