Five ideas for Christmas Marketing

Marketing your floristry business is can be tough work whether its online marketing or traditional marketing. Whilst Christmas is not the largest event of the calendar for florists, the Christmas holiday period can provide a great source of increased revenue and sales possibilities.

In addition to the Christmas Marketing Guide 101 for eCommerce Florists here are some great innovative ideas for different ways to market your business for Christmas. 1) Target customers looking for floral decorating ideas for not just gifts for others Christmas is an unusual time for florists, traditionally customers are looking to send flowers as gifts online but at this time of year customers are looking for floral arrangements for their own home.

It's a time of parties, long lunches and dinners and people are looking for more than just small arrangements. Target these people by potentially loading a special landing page on your website of Christmas Floral Ideas for the home. This can be a transactional webpage selling products or it could be an image gallery showing examples of what your Christmas floral arrangements look like! Just remember to have a clear Call To Action on non transactional web pages such as call us now on 12345 or Find out the price of  2) Target corporate & business gift givers Ok so this one might be obvious, but Christmas is a time of gift giving not just for friends and loved ones but also for businesses. Make sure that you are targeting corporate gift givers and Christmas range includes a selection of products that can be sent as corporate Christmas gifts. If you have the time you can even create a special landing page for Corporate Christmas Gifts and target this through Adwords so you end up with a general Christmas Page and a Corporate Christmas page. 3) Sponsor a local Christmas event with flowers Christmas time is filled with concerts, events and shows by everyone from your local schools to local churches. These events are a fantastic way to promote your business to the local community building brand awareness and potentially increasing sales. Almost all of these events generally use floral arrangements as decorations and they almost always print programs. If you sponsor an event by providing free or discounted floral arrangements ask for prominent advertising or thanks in the program. You can often ask to have a small pre-printed brochure with a discount offer left on each seat or inserted into the program. It's also great for general PR about your business that you are supporting a local community group. Just make sure that you are actually getting value out of the deal. If you would normally charge $500 for the flowers ask yourself are you going to get more $500 of in kind advertising or promotions. 4) In Store Floral Class for Making Christmas Decorations People love to do things themselves and Christmas floral declaring is no exception. Why not offer an in store class for making Christmas floral arrangements and decorations? It's a simple way of getting people in the door AND they are then likely to buy the equipment and supplies from you to make the decorations. It's also a great opportunity to get some pictures for your Facebook, Instgram and Pinterest accounts. 5) Offer Early Bird Offers for orders  The last idea is to offer serious discounts to customers who purchase or book their arrangements weeks in advance. It helps your cash flow and helps you plan for what flowers you need and how many staff will need to be on to make and deliver the orders. Email marketing is a great way of doing this at 6 and 4 weeks out from Christmas.
